Mom Chronicles July 13th 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the rare occasion we got a bag of potato chips as a kid, we always had to get plain because gramma would use the crumbs to make potato chip cookies.\u00a0 Or she would sprinkle them on top of a tuna noodle casserole.\u00a0 I liked the cookies better.\u00a0 Ha!\u00a0 Yes, yes, I know this post is late.\u00a0 But you know me by now so I know you forgive me.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8154\" src=\"https:\/\/www.burnedatthesteak.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/IMG_2742-768x1024.jpg\" butter when it&#8217;s on sale whether I need it or not.\u00a0 I can always store it in the freezer and use it when butter prices are high.\u00a0 Aaahhh, the habits I picked up from gramma.\u00a0 Or maybe I&#8217;m just cheap.\u00a0 Anywho, what I love about these cookies is that they aren&#8217;t sweet like a traditional cookie and it has a sandy crispy texture that you don&#8217;t find in many recipes.\u00a0 But I just love it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8152\" sizes=\"(max-width: 769px) 100vw, 769px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The recipe comes together with scant few ingredients, doesn&#8217;t require fancy accoutrements, and doesn&#8217;t need to be chilled.\u00a0 I drop them onto the sheet with a spoon and flatten them with my hand ever so slightly&#8230;.slight of hand&#8230;get it?\u00a0 (nyuck nyuck wheeee)\u00a0 Corny jokes folks&#8230;that&#8217;s my jam.\u00a0 Speaking of jam, you could make these thinner and sandwich jam inbetween them.\u00a0 Or you could dip one end in chocolate.\u00a0 Or both!\u00a0 The world is your cookie!<\/p>\n<p><img was gramma&#8230;.lots of butter.\u00a0 But these cookies should cost about five dollars a batch or less.\u00a0 We rarely spend more than two dollars on a bag of chips because I get the off brands.\u00a0 For me it&#8217;s the principle in regards to chips&#8230;.I refuse to spend a five dollar bill on a junk food item.\u00a0 I find it almost offensive.\u00a0 The things I could do with a five dollar bill as a single mom at the grocery store&#8230;..chips was not one of them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-8157\" tablespoon sized dollops of dough, flatten slightly, and bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the edges are golden and lightly
