Diary Entry October 24th, 2018:<\/p>\n
I have my first appetizer gig next week.\u00a0 Again, Elizabeth will be abroad, this time in Italy, learning how to make olive oil.\u00a0 That woman!\u00a0 All I have to say is, I better get some olive oil out of it.\u00a0 Do you hear me, woman?!\u00a0 Luckily, one of her sons will be there to help.\u00a0 Phew!\u00a0 The guest list is a hundred and thirty people and possibly climbing.\u00a0 I’ll have one hour to pump out over twelve hundred passed bites, while keeping some table items cleaned and stocked.\u00a0 It’s like being in some sort of horse race only with food.\u00a0 One bite at a time.\u00a0 I must be insane.<\/p>\n
I won’t be serving caprese, but I needed a pic of SOMEthing to slap up there.\u00a0 Here’s the actual menu:<\/p>\n
~Herbed tenderloin skewers with pumpkin cream<\/p>\n
~Roasted vegetables served cold with tonnato sauce<\/p>\n
~White wine poached shrimp served cold with remoulade, chimichurri, and fresh ponzu sauces<\/p>\n
~Dark chocolate truffles with salty brandy milk chocolate ganache with turbinado sugar<\/p>\n
I really want the skewers to be sprigs of rosemary, but that means about six hundred sprigs that I’d have to prep.\u00a0 I’m only one person.\u00a0 Yes, I’m looking at you, Elizabeth.\u00a0 I’ll have to see how….what’s that word?….ambitious…I am.\u00a0 Wish me luck!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
